In this connection, it is important to comprehensively estimate the feasibility and safety of its use, especially at high (therapeutic) doses. The paper discusses the potential anticancer effects of vitamin B complex.</p><sec><title>Objective</title><p>Objective: to evaluate the effect of thiamine disulfide, pyridoxine hydrochloride, and cyanocobalamin (neurobion 110 mg/kg/day) on the growth and metastatic spread of malignant tumors in mice.</p></sec><sec><title>Material and methods</title><p>Material and methods. Experiments were carried out in 25 F1 hybrid male mice (aged 2.5–3 months; body weight, 23–26 g). Transplantable Lewis lung epidermoid carcinoma (LLC) was used as a tumor model</p></sec><sec><title>Results and discussion</title><p>Results and discussion. The experimental animals tolerated the drug well; there were no symptoms of intoxication. The drug's effects lasting up to 21 days of LLC development were accompanied by a growing trend towards tumor growth inhibition by 10–20% (p=0.059).</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. After subchronic intragastric administration of B12 at a daily dose of 110 mg/kg to tumor-bearing animals, there is a steady tendency to LLC growth inhibition. No antimetastatic activity was found.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Витамины группы В широко используются в неврологии в лечебных и профилактических целях, нередко их назначают на длительный срок (недели и месяцы). В связи с этим важно всесторонне оценить целесообразность и безопасность их применения, особенно в повышенных (лечебных) дозах. В статье обсуждается потенциальная антиканцерогенность витаминов группы В.</p><p>Цель исследования – оценка влияния тиамина дисульфида, пиридоксина гидрохлорида и цианокобаламина (нейробион 110 мг/кг/сут) на рост и метастазирование злокачественных новообразований у мышей.</p><sec><title>Материал и методы</title><p>Материал и методы. Исследования проведены на 25 самцах мышей-гибридов F1 (возраст – 2,5–3 мес, масса тела – 23–26 г). В качестве опухолевой модели использована перевиваемая эпидермоидная карцинома легких Льюис (КЛЛ).</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Подопытные животные легко переносили препарат, симптомов интоксикации не отмечено. Воздействие препарата до 21-х суток развития КЛЛ сопровождалось нарастающей тенденцией к торможению роста опухоли на 10–20% (р=0,059).</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. При субхроническом внутрижелудочном введении препарата В12 животным-опухоленосителям в ежедневной дозе 110 мг/кг наблюдается устойчивая тенденция к торможению роста КЛЛ.
