The literature review deals with the use of glucocorticoids (GC) for nonspecific vertebrogenic pain and radiculopathy. The pathophysiology of radiculopathy and the role of mechanical and chemical components in the development of pain syndrome are discussed. The data of clinical trials analyzing the efficiency of epidural GC use, as well as possible indications for this therapy and its adverse reactions are under consideration. The available concepts of the analgesic effect of epidural CG are discussed.

Обзор литературы посвящен применению глюкокортикоидов (ГК) при вертеброгенной боли неспецифического характера и радикулопатии. Обсуждаются вопросы патофизиологии радикулопатии, роли механического и химического компонентов в развитии болевого синдрома. Рассматриваются данные исследований, в которых проводился анализ эффективности эпидурального применения ГК, а также возможные показания к такой терапии и ее побочные реакции. Обсуждаются имеющиеся концепции обезболивающего эффекта ГК при эпидуральном введении.
