The presence of hypertension in middle age increases the risk of developing cognitive impairment (CI) and dementia in old age. At the same time, changes in certain indicators characteristic of AH may serve as predictors of CI and dementia in the future. The review presents data on the effects of endothelial dysfunction and increased arterial stiffness on CF. The small number of papers on the effects of hypertension in middle-aged people on the development of CI emphasizes the importance of investigating this topic, as the incidence of CI in young and middle-aged people has increased in recent years.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Нарушение когнитивных функций (КФ) – частое проявление поражения головного мозга как органа-мишени при артериальной гипертензии (АГ). Наличие АГ в среднем возрасте повышает риск развития когнитивных нарушений (КН) и деменции в пожилом возрасте. При этом изменения определенных показателей, характерных для АГ, могут выступать предикторами КН и деменции в дальнейшем. В обзоре представлены данные о влиянии эндотелиальной дисфункции и повышенной артериальной жесткости на КФ.
