Arterial hypertension is a leading modifiable risk factor for stroke and cerebral microangiopathy, which underlies the development of non-stroke associated CI. Antihypertensive therapy plays an essential role in preventing the development and slowing the progression of CI by controlling blood pressure. The review discusses the use of memantine – a reversible inhibitor of NMDA receptors (akatinol memantine) – in vascular CI.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Когнитивные нарушения (КН) входят в число наиболее ранних и часто встречающихся у пациентов с артериальной гипертензией неврологических нарушений. Артериальная гипертензия является ведущим модифицируемым фактором риска развития инсульта и церебральной микроангиопатии, лежащей в основе развития КН, не связанных с инсультом. Антигипертензивная терапия играет существенную роль в профилактике развития и замедлении прогрессирования КН посредством контроля артериального давления.
